How can I store insecticides and insect repellents safely and effectively?

The ideal location is a sheltered, cool, ventilated place, not exposed to direct sunlight, nor where there is a possibility of reaching temperatures below 0 °C, in a closed container/cabinet that cannot be reached by children or pets.
